This really is an amazing hotel. It is arguably the nicest hotel (with the nicest pool) downtown. The service is also great and the staff very friendly.
The rooms are nice & cozy, decorated in a manner reminiscent of a French villa. (More photos here.)
My favorite feature is the pool area, which is open to the public with the purchase of some food/drinks.
Yesterday, after eating some nachos and a couple of drinks, Jen & I spent the afternoon lounging by the pool. Total cost? 75 pesos ($5) each (including a 15% tip).
We also enjoy the festive atmosphere which you'll often find here. The hotel is popular with Mexicans we often find kids playing (and maybe shooting other guests with water guns) in the pool. On one recent visit, we lent some goggles to a group of adorable Mexican kids.
If you go downtown, visit this hotel. You won't be disappointed!
